Five month since the accident and still not fully recovered.

Wow, amazing how time flies. It has now been 5 months since I was in the two accidents and not very much has happened since then when it comes to my training. I have literally not been training at all. 😦

I suffered a severe concussion, a whiplash and a severe hematoma on my hip which has caused me not to be able to run or bike.  I have had post traumatic anxiety and I still struggle with organization and time management. I have had severe migraine. But, what is my issues compare to my youngest son who suffered a Traumatic brain injury and survived a nearly fatal accident a year ago? Nothing! If he can overcome such a tragic, I certainly can too. He’s my inspiration.
I did end up doing the IMboulder, not as a competitor, but as a volunteer, and boy that was fun but hard work during a long day. I worked in T2 section and I met so many of my friends racing. Interesting to see from another perspective than the side of an athlete , do I really look like this when I race? Yes, probably, almost all the athletes who came in looked like they were dying, either from dehydration, pain, you name it, but very soon they changed into their running gears and went off in the run to finish the Ironman. We are a funny group of people us triathletes, what pain we put ourselves in volunteering. ha,ha.

The running has been off and on, short distances. I have not biked at all since I’ve not been allowed to, but lately it’s because I don’t have a bike. It was totalled and I’m still waiting for insurance money from the driver who hit me.
Swim has been off and on as well, I finally can move my arms over my head with no pain.
So training has not been very efficient, but my goal has been to get healed and I think I finally starting to feel ready to start again.
I’m officially signed up for Ironman Frankfurt on July 5th, 2015, bring it on.
